*Ive been watching this man since I was 13. I’m 30 now. It’s going to be weird not seeing him on the field. He was a great leader and one of the toughest QB’s to ever play the game. HOF bound for sure. It was an honor*

As a Ravens fan Big Ben always gave us problems but nothing but respect. a 10 - 6 defensive struggle in the AFC North was always a great watch while playing the Steelers.
Salute

Before the wheels fell off last year the Steelers started 11-0. I think he retired at the perfect time. The defence took a mild step back with the loses of Bud Dupree, etc. They were never going to win the Super Bowl this year. He got to have one last ride and go to the playoffs. To reiterate... he retired at the perfect time.

SAS has to criticize everything " He should of retired 2 years ago". Who cares, He's retiring now and he can't let people have a goodbye without some negativity or criticism. Clown show

Big Ben made AFC North Football what it is today. I hate saying this as a fan of a rival but he was a great player to watch. Every time we had him beat with like 5 minutes to go, he would always come back. Especially that final game of the regular season this year when he beat us in overtime to go to the playoffs. I will miss playing him twice a year, and he along with some of the legendary defensive players on these 2 teams made the Ravens Steelers rivalry what it is today. Farewell Leader of Men.

*Ben Roethlisberger there have been MANY TIMES that you have showed US as Steelers Fans your HEART but for me it was vs the Browns in December 2011. When I saw the leg injury at the end of the second half where it looked SO BAD almost to the point of a season or career ending injury I was crushed!!! But then I saw you come back on the field ready to play after halftime I cried like a baby & INSTANTLY KNEW that you were one of the GREATEST Steeler's QB's in HISTORY to EVER put on a Steelers Uniform PERIOD!!! Thank You Ben for giving US as Steelers Fans some of the GREATEST Years of OUR lives watching and cheering for YOU and the BLACK & GOLD!!! Steelers Nation 4 Life!!! We Bleed Black & Gold!!!*

As a Steeler fan totally agree, if you remember his early years what made him special was he was mobile. AB extended his career by being uncoverable, but once him and Bell were gone then he hurt his elbow it was over. Despite the 11-0 start 2 seasons ago, the offense was horrible then too. It was already over in 2018 when they folded down the stretch. Heck 2017 after Shazier got hurt, he was the key to the defense and couldn't be replaced, losing at home to Jacksonville in the playoff should have been the writing on the wall. Every good team after that exploited our weakness at ILB.

I was 8 when the Steelers drafted Ben. I'm 26 now. Thanks for the best childhood ever, buddy.

Stephen A: “you’re not a Steelers fan, i am”

Also Stephen A: “thank god he’s retiring”

Like bro as Steeler fans can we all just appreciate what he gave us for 18 years? Instead of having to hear “oh thank god he’s retiring” we all know he isn’t what he used to be, he gave us 18 years of his life, 2 Super Bowls, and countless memories. Let’s just celebrate him today

I’m tired of Stephen A saying he’s a Steelers fan, but A true Steelers fan wouldn’t be saying “thank god”

Stephen A is right about the media though. They spend weeks talking about Brady and forget almost everyone else

Stephan a couldn’t be more wrong. “The saddest thing to see is someone playing too long?” It’s incredible for the sport. Some of these men can barely pick their children up after calling it a career. Their dedication should never be questioned or taken advantage of. I’m a ravens fan btw. Big Ben was a great rival. One of the greatest. He retired at a great time and could even play one more year if he would like.

Big Ben survived against that baltimore defense is hall of fame worthy.
