Driving the old road from Kalamata through the mountain range of Taygetos towards Mystras and Sparta. The majestic Taygetos is one of the Greek mountains with altitude of 2000m and a length of approximately 115 km. The highest mountain of the range is Profitis Ilias 2405m. Profitis Ilias reserves one of the most beautiful and rare phenomena in the world, the phenomenon of the shadow of the mountain. It has beautiful wild nature and impressive views, picturesque villages, gorges, caves….just perfect!
