I'm actually at a really bad place right now, mentally wise, very unmotivated with life. I know for a fact that waking up early, drinking coffe, being productive, going to the gym and then getting home to rest is the best routine a man can have. I was at this place recently but now all I do is wake up at 2 oclock in the afternoon and watch Netflix until 5am, skipping the gym.. but I've come to realise now that is not my mental state that will help my atitude, but the other way around, I need to get back on track to actually be back on track.

The advice about communicating with the ones you love is priceless. I lost both my parents this last year. As it was expected we had the time to communicate and say the things that were always assumed. Take nothing for granted. Life is short and not guaranteed. Thanks for sharing.

Telling the people you care about how you feel, 100% something we should all do. I have always said it when I would see my parents, brother etc as you never know what might happen. Last thing I said on the phone to my mum was "I love you" before she passed away suddenly later that day. Don't regret not telling someone how you feel as you never know what waits around that corner.

Great tips Antonio. One thing I do to get out of a rut is to travel. This is along the same lines of learning something new, in that I seek novelty. It doesn't have to be far or expensive, but visiting a new place and discovering what it has to offer can really un-rut oneself.

I would recommend finding a young man, nephew, younger brother, whatever, just someone that you can mentor in some way. It doesn't have to be a big thing, just whatever you're really good at, or have a fair amount of knowledge about. Often times when we help others learn and grow, we learn and grow ourselves. That's why teachers are always talking about how their jobs are so fulfilling. Helping someone else will get you out of your rut, and improve someone else's life at the same time.

Great post! My suggestions are:
1. An alarm clock that mimics gradual sunrise (and sunset) and nature sounds.
2. Home lights (Hue or some other brand) with settings that can be controlled by a smartphone and changed by mood, activity, etc.
3 Get outside and more fresh air. Take a walk during the day. Get some sun. Walk even if it's raining. "Smoking breaks" are not just for smokers. Remember that there's an outside world when you're stuck in your office (or even home office).
Just my suggestions.

I would say stepping out of your comfort zone should be on this list. I'm a theater guy but I have many male friends who aren't. One of them recently hit a rut and I suggested that he go out for a musical that his community theater was putting on. He was only cast as an ensemble singer but by going to the first few rehearsals he made several new friends that he otherwise would not have met and after all was said and done he still had those friends to go hang out with and have new experiences and on top of it he was able to discover a different side of himself and revitalize his life

wow thank you because i was down i dont motivate myself i was thinking selfish i was being lazy then i think how do i change myself then i open youtube then instantly saw this video(talk about great timing) now im motivated to this things for the greater good of my life and of others :)
