Novation Summit Synth | Overview

Alex joins us to take us through the new Novation Summit Polyphonic Synth.

Thank you for your overview. I’m eying the Summit as possible main synth and controller keyboard.
Can you tell me if you can use the keyboard in split mode and control another synth on one zone and the summit on the other zone.
If not, can you at least have the Summit active and controlled by a sequencer while you are using its keyboard for another synth ?
The idea is it to act in the setup as both controller and synth.
Currently using an SL 49 mkiii but would like to simplify the setup as much as possible. Thanks

What? This is still not the final version? I pre-ordered mine in June, and my dealer in Germany says it will be in stock from Sept. 9 on. :/

What a terrible demonstration this was. I wonder if anyone has made it all the way through this video without skipping bits? This has seriously put me off buying this synth and I’d heard good things about it. Novation and GAK - You really need to learn from the mistakes of this video.

Okay I really tried, but I stopped watching this video at the FM experiment. in the first minutes you talked so much and the sound was so boring and even the bespoken effects were nearly unnoticeable with this very simple sawtooth. But actually the worst to come. The experimenting with the FM and then the envelope was so painful to see. Even you recognized, that the expected effect was not there. This is not a problem of the synth, but FM works completely different. I believe this was by far the worst presentation of any synth I have seen in this year.

I do not understand why you do not think about what you want to present, choose the right sounds and settings and then do the corresponding knob turns to emphasize on this.

I like the Summit a lot, but this video was painful to watch and not a seller for this synth.
