Salsa Cycles Presents: Why Gravel?

Why do you ride gravel? There are no wrong answers. For our latest film, we rode along with four gravel riders to collect their thoughts. Maybe their reasons align with yours, or will add appreciation and inspiration for riding the roads fewer people see.

"Gravel" is a nice overall word and includes the flat gravel roads in this video. But for me, it includes the gnarley downhill sandy, rocky jeep roads mixed in with hard areas you hunt for since the bike can be fully loaded for camping. Then a Sunday put put on a firm but rutty dirt road not far from home. Then back onto pavement again. I've been riding my Salsa Fargo for a few years with some cool tours under my bottom. Yet I keep saying ....' I LOVE this bike ' ! Gravel means the bike will do anything, solo or with other riders !

I love this! I've been graveling since April of 2019 (biking at various times throughout life). Thank you for all participants in the video! Graveling is awesome experience, many things to see and enjoy, and can't wait until Spring!

@00:40 be careful when attaching something on the fork whit a single hook, it can rotate and go straight through your front wheel... 😅

Been riding gravel for over 40 years… Yes that’s right 40… I’ve yet to see any fat black girls out on the gravel…Nice pander… Just not very realistic…
