Показать описание
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Sylvia Marie Panschow (née Leblanc) on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in Fort Erie at the age of 74. A beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend. Born the third child of twelve in Nova Scotia but later a world traveler who then settled again in Yarmouth with her husband Wolfgang Panschow. In 1991, along with their four children they relocated to Ontario. Sylvia was a strong woman, who loved her Lord Jesus Christ and centered her life in His service. She was courageous and willing to stand for the things she believed in, especially her family whom she devoted her life to. Among her many talents Sylvia was an excellent hostess who enjoyed welcoming guests from friends to missionaries to her B&B guests from all over the world. In addition she was an incredible seamstress, who lovingly created wedding dresses for two of her daughters, sewed and repaired countless pieces of clothing for family as well as created various costumes for church plays. Sylvia was always heavily involved in her local church whether it be the women's ministry, Sunday school programs and prayer meetings. Her absence will be felt by many. The warmth we felt over the years in the many Sunday roast beef dinners, her comforting and delicious peach cobbler or the way she transformed her home each Christmas, these and many countless memories we will hold in our hearts until we see her again.
Sylvia is survived by her close friend and former husband Wolfgang Panschow, her children, Cephas (Amy) Panschow, Naomi Panschow, Rebekah Panschow, who lovingly provided 24/7 care over the past months, and Sarah (Sam) Bruce and ten grandchildren, Alice, Lucie and Kate Panschow; Jackson Panschow; Sofia and Solomon Fulson; Johanna, Jolene, Jotika and Jovie Bruce. Her siblings, Alphonse Leblanc, Elaine (Raymond) Surette, Arthur (Donna) Leblanc, Rosalie (Patrick) Burrell, Florence (Dwayne) Bourque, Christina (William) Muise, Edna (Vincent) Dancause and lovingly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Sylvia is predeceased by her father Joseph Leblanc and mother Yvonne Elizabeth Leblanc and by her siblings Isabel Leblanc, Norman Leblanc, Paul Leblanc and Doris Leblanc, as well as her nephew Stefan Surette.
A time has been set aside for her family to receive guests at Full Gospel Church 376 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am with a funeral service to start at 11:00 am and a light reception to follow. Interment will take place at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery.
If desired, donations in Sylvia's memory may be made to the Sarah Tapley Foundation, which is dedicated to assisting families of critically ill children, and would be appreciated by her family.
