Let's Not Politicize This

Argument: Certain issues/events should not be politicized, typically because the time and/or place is not appropriate.
Counter-Argument (to ordinary citizens): While it's understandable to find politicizing unpleasant, it's unavoidable when solving a problem in your society.
Counter-Argument (to politicians): Nice try.
Arguers' Fault: Pessimism, self-interest.

It's videos like this I especially love because you're able to attack both "sides" and show they use the same nonsense tactics and eliminates replies of you taking a particular side and allows for actual discussion of diversionary tactics period as a whole rather than aimed at a specific political party

I think the problem is that a tragedy is just an event, it doesn't have statistical significance. It is used usually to try to make a point using people feelings instead of reasoning. Political decisions should be taken carefully and with good basis. When people use tragedies to promote a political point sometimes irrational decisions are made.

I like how people always accuse the other side of being divisive. It's such a hypocritical comment because both sides are equally divisive, and the comment of "My opponent is divisive" is probably divisive as well.

I am against politicizing... but apparently I use wrong definition of the word. For me politicizing was an action of claiming that something apolitical _ackchyually_ was created or done to make a political statement. In a "Red Riding Hood is obviously about communism, how don't you see that?!" way.
