This is the reason why I love Vaniah's music. He uses a lot of Samoan ancient proverbial expressions (Chief oratory language) in his music. Very rare and unique. As a Samoan who now lives in the US, I miss listening to these proverbial expressions and the Chiefs using it in traditional occasions. 😢

This song is about fishing. "Tuli atu" translates to Tuna Chasing. It's a right of passage for Samoan boys/youth to learn this skill (catching tuna) in order to be Skilled fishermen that can provide for the family and the village community. Vaniah is singing about how the chase is done, and that it's just one part of being SAMOAN Man.
