I’ll predict 1. Pay your tithing. 2. We need more people to serve missions. 3. Attend the temple more often. And 4. Russel sleeper Nelson will announce 15 temples. One of which I’m guessing will be in Egypt or some place that has very few to little members or some other place.

I'm sure we will be told that women are so important and needed, and very empowered.

They’ll for sure talk about how important women are to this work, how they are needed and appreciated. Tithing of course. Temples and growth. And maybe a few more mentions about how they don’t condone abuse or fundamentalism.

I'll tell you one thing they're definitely going to do: Pretend the church is growing "like a stone cut out of a mountain" when it's really sinking like the Titanic.

It's the same every year isn't it?
Church growth, build temples, missionary work, temple work, we need you, the adversary is against you, pay tithing, be in the world but not of the world, love the sinner hate the sin, parables and professed profundity.

Nothing will change. Absolutely nothing. Will there be more chastising and shaming? Yes. Especially directed at the women who spoke up these last two weeks? Absolutely.

Something about women being in their place

Omg. The great and spacious conference center… that’s brilliant. I’ve always called City Creek Mall the Great and Spacious building but it so applies to the Conference center as well.

1. Pay your tithes;
2. Read your scriptures;
3. Temple attendance (pay your tithes first);
4. Doubt your doubts;
5. Pay tithing;
6. Serve a mission at your own expense;
7. Did we mention pay your tithes?

I predict that women will be endowed with the power to choose the punch flavour at ward activities

They will stress the importance of not listening to people who have left the LDS church saying those who leave the church may damage their testimonies and suggest subtlety that ex Mormons are influenced by the adversary.

Maybe this is the conference where coffee becomes "legal"

Something about how women are blessed with priesthood power in their callings, but yet not ordaining them to the priesthood

Someone will bear their testimony and avoid using knowledge claims, trying to normalize "I testify and am sure" or something like that.

Tithes. How wonderful Pres. Nelson is. Tithes.

Whatever the specifics, it’ll be a fest of fear-mongering; members will be told God loves them but they need to try harder, the goal has not been reached, and not one speaker will reassure members that they’re just fine, as they are. Everyone will be encouraged to leave the conference full of a sense of being not enough, with a renewed determination to push themselves harder to fit the vague ideals they’ve just heard described in non-specific language. The carrot of perfection will seem to dangle just beyond their noses, giving them a feeling they can reach it this time…and in October, they’ll be told all the ways they need to try harder…the goal is still beyond them, they are not enough, God loves them, but they are definitely not enough…etc., etc., etc.

Frankly GC is the closest thing to eternal damnation I can think of. You never reach Heaven, you’re never good enough. Forget lakes of fire and brimstone. Hell is the emptiness of “love” promised but eternally just out of your reach.

Imagine a GC where every speaker just got up and told the audience what good work they’d all done that year managing to bumble along as humans for another year, and to keep it up—high five! Just…let them feel ok, and encourage them to find their way as best they can…and reassure them it would be more than enough. What would that be like? LOL

I think that with the purchase of the Kirtland temple, they're going to concentrate a lot on the 2nd coming. They'll also announce at least one more temple built in Missouri.

I’m thinking they will announce tourist temples, placing them in tourist hot spots thus proofing the lord lives all of his righteous children.

I predict that oaks will give another sexist & queer-phobic talk, & to telling members to not advocate for rights.
