Great interview with Teague! Nice to see him casual, rather than in sales mode.

Tesla's Corpus Christie refinery was a hedge against lithium price gouging. Less important today with prices coming back down but still good to have

After watching Demolition man a half a dozen times I believe that electric cars are the way of the future even though I love my big gas truck. I think that I will thow in a few thousand bucks and see where it's at in a few year's. Better than taking it to Vegas like I have been known to do.

Great presentation guys, as always. Just FYI, there is about 30% more lithium in the earth's crust than lead. Also, "rare earth" metals are not really all that rare. In 1841 a Swedish chemist/geologist, Carl Gustaf Mosander, found a blackish rock that was "unusual" which translated to "rare". The rock contained neodymium (common in permanent magnets) which on the availability scale of elements is just below copper. The other "rare" earth metals are found in similar concentrations. Thank you for the awesome info presented here, very informative.

8:20 the reason why there is so little lithium produced in the US is because basically there was not much demand? This is quite a worrisome situation because it’s a sign that nobody in the US was thinking ahead about sustainable energy or its potential. Frankly, it’s a great reason why Tesla was so successful at scaling up, first they had Elon and second the rest of the industry was completely looking elsewhere! Hopefully the academics will take up the slack and dream about the future even harder. In particular, one area the US is clearly getting weaker is in manufacturing technology and they can’t afford to stay that way.

Thanks you guys for this update. For the last 20 years or so I have been looking for a new energy for batteries that would be worth the investment. I have been looking at Energy X since seeing your post. And I still don’t have enough understanding of the industry but I am amazed by what I am seeing. So the time to investe is now for me. There is 2 aspects that steer one they designed for efficient production, 2. They are leasing from their patents.
Hope I am not wrong. I really appreciate you guys and enjoy listening to your conversations. You remind me of Click and Clack you guy are Zip and Zap… 😂❤️

Numerous minerals such as nickel, manganese, cobalt, etc are also needed in battery production and the environmentalist have blocked mining. Trump will push them out of way much quicker than Harris, so I feel he IS the best choice to promote EVs. Trump wants to both drill and mine.

Unfortunately the premise here is that no battery recycling will ensue. We need to make sure battery material recycling is adopted en masse right now to lessen the necessity for lithium mining in the future. Yes there will need to be mining but not anywhere near the estimates pushed here if we ensure battery materials are recycled as lithium ion batteries are decommissioned.

I understand the value in domestic production but it also makes sense to me to keep a significant portion of the domestic deposits as a strategic reserve and use overseas production to a large degree particularly if they are easier to access and of a higher quality like mentioned around 10 minutes in. similar to the US strategic oil reserves

Finally! A good reason why Mexico was paused.

Greater supply lessens prices. Why would you enable other production?

I'm not too sure that lithium is the future.
Juste because it's the favourite technology now, that doesn't make it the technology of the future.

Interesting that the speaker does not mention the name of the senators that are pushing and interested in Energy transition are they Democrats perhaps
