Bansko piste 5 ✅ open: some lift queues

Today offered up some very nice skiing. New pistes open including blue 5 and red 4. It seems many more people prefer driving up and the carparks are pretty much full by 11 o’clock. There was no queue at the gondola lift at 8:30. So if you are driving to Bansko then consider taking a gondola lift up.

Driving up incurs a 12 leva parking fee and of course you still need to buy a lift pass which for a single adult is 70 leva.

Lift queues on the mountain of around 15 minutes.

There is just takeaway available which includes all beverages and pizza and pasta dishes.

It would be interesting to see the queues and arrangements for getting on the gondola at the base station 😁

“Let’s get four!” This is a very irresponsible comment! Please consider that some people would happily wait and socially distance themselves. You are lucky the resort is open at all! I follow the blog but these comments demonstrate a sad and very selfish attitude. Sad to see from resort representatives.

To complain about queues and the chairs only occasionally full seems utterly bizarre. It seems astonishing to me that any resort is open full stop. I shudder to think what damage a big queue at the gondola could do. I’m a big fan of the site and the resort but this, in my opinion at least, is a ridiculous comment to make.

A theory on yesterday rant. People could be willing to suffer the lack of social distancing in order to secure their position in the queue but once they get to the front... wish to achieve social distancing with their group or family on the lift. Hense the low lift utilisation / occupancy. Idiocy at its finest.

Would normally agree with you on that rant. However, sitting directly next to someone you don't know is hardly maintaining social distancing. That's just asking for an outbreak.

Bansko is 10y behind everyone thats why they didnt keep distance. Korona didnt came there 🤣 #no_hate 🤣
