Mountains Of Freedom (Muntanyes De Llibertat)

Mountains Of Freedom (Muntanyes De Llibertat) is a 4 days trek that goes along some of the routes that were used in the 40s by jews escaping the Nazis (some were confined to the French town of Aulus and later deported to concentration camps). The same routes were also used by republicans escaping the Spanish fascist civil war and dictatorship, from the 30s until late 70s of the XX century. Before those troubled times, the same routes were used by local population as ways of communication and trade, although only when the weather conditions where favourable. Nowadays the lower parts are still used for recreational purposes, but the areas of higher elevation are quite deserted. At certain points we didn't cross any other hikers for hours.
Mountains Of Freedom route goes along 60Km, with 4.650m positive and negative elevation in total.
