The interesting thing about the whole cancer thing is that for some reason the original Justice League show called it "blood poisoning" instead, only calling it cancer by the time JLU rolled around. I'm not sure if there was a reason for this, but it actually happened again in the episodes about how Vandal Savage altered the events of WWII to allow the Axis powers victory. One such alteration was removing Germany's leader from the equation, showing his face briefly but never calling him by name, until a JLU episode finally allowed a character to name drop Hitler

In all honesty, if that was the way she died, that probably would have been one of the most disturbing deaths in the DCAU to me at least. Just the thought of her perishing to Grundy while he keeps “petting” her lifeless, mangled body like Lenny from of mice and men just freaks me out
