Based on leaks it appears there will be a pickaxe added in a future update which will be taken out of the backbling when used!

I think the reason fortnite didn’t release the new crew pack is because they wanted to finish the mech in the background sense that’s the crew pack so if they released it early that would have spoiled the mech final look

I like the skin -- but, shame that It confirms the battle pass. Hope that the 2-3 other skins that we don't know of will be better so that Darth Vader doesn't have to carry the whole battle pass.

Really good but I really think we should have gotten a sword pickaxe. Maybe it will be a bonus after the event?

the backbling makes it seem like the pickaxe will be some kind of energy sword

I'm guessing since the back bling looks like a sword in its holder, that during the event, the Mech will draw it out from the backpack and the blade will be some kind of beam or laser sword that likely activates after the hilt has been drawn out.
Or a fold out blade as there is no room otherwise.
I'm excited for the upcoming event! 😃
