Over the next few weeks, I am going to be releasing short solutions to the ASVAB AFQT Mathematical Knowledge questions.

But how are you supposed to know those are right angles and, in fact, form two rectangles? Much safer to assume we don’t have enough information to answer the question

Not one to brag, yet here I go! Oh and lolol can't prove it either but, took it in 81, aced it, got scared, they were chasing me, wanting to sign me up, I didn't enlist! Concord CA. 😂

Another way is to take the "full" rectangle (7 x 5) and subtract the missing area (full width is 5 minus the 2 at the bottom is 3 x full length is 7 minus the 2 on the side is 5 for a total of 15)

Or, find the missing area, a square. Subtract that from what would be a complete larger square; 35-15=20

Are there any questions that are difficult? All these I've seen so far have just been basic geometry

Or the way I did it, 5*2+10 added to 7*2=14 minus 2*2=4, so I guess I am officer material bc I did it the most inefficient way!

pretty sure that if you cant handle that the military is gonna struggle finding a use for you
