How is his mouth capable of locking in the blast so that it redirected to hit his brain? If the skin of his mouth could stop it couldn't his skull also stop it? Nothing about this scene makes any sense, not just the issue of Richards getting caught monologuing. Frankly the entire scarlett witch character writes the story into a corner because she's so powerful that no one should be able to do anything to her. This is why she was a side player in the MCU. She and vision could stop everything before Thanos without much trouble so the writers sidelined them and made wandavision about other dynamics so that he absurd superpowers help the story instead of ruin it. This movie didn't get that.

So... So the writers, for God knows what reason, decided to not only make the WORLD'S SMARTEST MAN... Give away the one ability that actually had a chance at neutralizing her, but to add insult to injury, also completely disregarded his years of training to not make a single noise, then proceed to blow his own brains out, even though even a whisper could easily blow off the skin of his mouth. But no, instead it deflected off his skin, somehow, but in the process managed to gouge through his skull, which is 10 times more durable than skin. Gotcha. So fucking stupid. I just watched Deadpool Wolverine and the way they just introduced all these new characters like the gambit just to fucking kill them off, or at minimum leave us with uncertainty is mind boggling.

If the MCU production team were to shoot an avengers movie in 2024, each goddamn character would die within the first 10 minutes and only like thor or captain america would live, because that's exactly how it has played out in every recent movie.
