In order to better understand the efficacy of a drug like hydroxy #chloroquine in a complex system like Covid-19, a larger number of samples is needed, says Sterghios Moschos, associate Professor in Cellular and Molecular Sciences, Northumbria University.
‘’We have seen some data being produced worldwide about these medications. One thing I can tell you hand on heart, is that in the aged population in the United States where hydroxy chloroquine has been given as a treatment, there was an observation of twice the higher risk of death in these patients. It’s a very small study. It’s well done and well presented. We need to be patient with the discovery study’’ he says.
