The output of log is highly dependent upon the value of a or base
If value of a is grater than one and the value of input is greater than one
We will get positive values
And if the values of a is more than one and value of input is less than one(excluding negative and zero) we get negative values
Vice versa
If values of a is less than one and value of input is more than one
We will get negative values
And is value of a is less than one and value is also less then one(excluding negative and zero)we get positive values

Ans of the HW:

In a logarithmic function,
f(x)=log x with base a
The output y is negative when the base a or the input x or both are less than 1
&
The output is positive when both the input x as well as base a is more than 1 or equal to 1.
