Saw a comment in Youtube saying this is the best 80s song ever sung in the 90s. After consideration, I have to agree. Had this came out in 86-89 Hawkes would've been a bigger star than he is now.

I didn't get to hear this very often in the '90s, but I still remember seeing the video on MTV one weekend for some reason. Thank goodness the song was in Doc Hollywood so I wouldn't forget about it for years because this is one of my favorite '90s tracks.

Just came home from late night cycling by the harbour in Gothenburg, Sweden. And suddenly, this song popped up in my head. I had never put it on myself before and have not heard it for aaages. But I always liked it. I remember my little sister loved it as a child when it was released. German radio stations played it a lot back then. Need to write her now.
So funny to see now that in 2022 a Chesney Hawkes boxset was released. What a coincidence that the song popped up in my head! Will actually check a bit, don't know any other songs. Interesting, a cover of World Party's "She's The One" as well.
Anyway, this is a great song!! It was the first time now that I really listened to the lyrics carefully as well. Had to send a link to the video to two friends right away 🙂 Edit: The acoustic version on the box set is cool as well. Make sure to check it out!
