So about a month after I replaced my right swivel hinge, my left (still original) one broke too! But now I've just replaced it as well thanks to you guys so hopefully these headphones will last me another few years. Every thing else on them is still working great so definitely a better deal to pay a small amount to replace these hinges than to buy all brand new headphones. These are going on their 3rd or 4th year with nearly daily use for up to 8+ hours a day, so I'm still happy with their performance but also happy that I could do my own repair.

I have a trip over the Fourth of July weekend, and my hinge swivel suddenly broke last week, making my headphones unusable. I really wanted to have my headphones for the flight, so I considered buying new ones until i discovered the replacement hinge you sell. I ordered it with priority shipping so i could get it before my trip, and once i got it i was able to do the whole repair in a half hour. Must admit, it is more fix friendly than I anticipated. But still, I am hesistant to get them due to ANC flaw when moisture builds up in the wire. I get it, that might be rare, but still it bothers me.

I am still hoping for more LDAC headphones with somehow competing ANC. Technics weren't close to the XM4 though.

thank you for the guide. I should've been more careful when you mentioned to put the connector in carefully since the parts are fragile. Right then and there I broke a piece of the plastic connector lol. Great video and easy to follow!

Thank you for the very helpful video! This issue really is a common one with the wh xm4’s. This happened to my right earcup a year ago, then it happened to my left one soon after. I only opened it now once the hinge swivel piece popped out, making it very inconvenient to use. I used some tape as a temporary fix, but I plan to buy an actual replacement for the hinge swivel piece later on. Very annoying, but at least with the left ear up I don’t have to worry about a battery potentially turning my room into an inferno smh.

There was a lot of obstacles along the way so it took more than 1 hour but this video was really helpful! Thanks.
Compare to Apple - Sony is a lot easier to repair since you only need ONE type of screw a phillips one. No other complicated stuff that ONLY Apple uses to make it harder to repair.
Only bad thing is that I hade to buy shipping for $20, and $10 in customs fee for a replacement part that costs $30 so kinda expensive if you live outside the US.

My left hinge exploded last week, so after discovering your video I ordered the parts from your site and followed your video once they were delivered. The parts were high quality and worked perfect, and the video is super easy to follow and well explained.

Unfortunately, right as the left hinge was delivered, the right hinge decided it wanted to explode too! So, looks like I'm ordering the right hinge now, haha.

Thank you for posting I hated the thought of throwing away my favorite ($300+) headphones because of a small plastic part. Sony referred me to a repair shop and was quoted around $160 for this repair. I was able to repair myself with your $30 part and this video. Also very impressed with the shipping time.
