The 2021 Holberg Conversation with Martha C. Nussbaum

The 2021 Holberg Prize was awarded to Martha C. Nussbaum for her ground-breaking contributions to research in law and philosophy. In this interview, Nussbaum talks about her research and particularly on how she has focused on justice and on the role of emotions throughout her career.

Martha C. Nussbaum is the current Ernst Freund Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago. Interviewer is Hallvard Fossheim, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Bergen.

A delightful interview - you can feel her passion for intellectual breadth, sharpness, and a willingness to evolve and self-correct! 25:25 yes disgust is a tricky one for me. I must use this continually at my work. People have vary different foods they enjoy. Sometimes I think it's gross but must show no emotion on it. Nor make a judging remark.
