UK supermarkets have started rationing selected fruit and vegetables including tomatoes as supply issues leave shelves empty across the country.

Rob Salmon went to a Tesco to pick up some tomatoes on Monday, only to find the shelves laid bare.

A combination of bad weather and transport problems in Africa and Europe is to blame for the low stock.

Shortages of tomatoes and peppers from Spain due to weather conditions I hear. Plenty of other food available though.

Quitterlings knew exactly what they were voting for, didn't they?
And if it was all down to weather, the war in Ukraine, the Labour government of 13 years ago or the phase of the moon and NOT to Brexit, I wonder why no EU member country has any shortages whatsoever.

lol, I got a weeks shop in before the panic buying emptied the shelves. These videos are self fulfilling prophesies as everyone sees them and goes out and empties the shops.

People will buy tins instead and then there will be a shortage of those. Panic buying will create more shortage.

Been noticing it all month, I recon they have been saving money on energy in the chilled storage and picked keeping valentines day flowers over produce, since its more profit

The Irish Times is reporting similar shortages in the Republic of Ireland, which is of course still in the EU and single market...
