Some translation is completely inaccurate and incorrect. The woman in the background says in Urdu wind up the interview quickly as her baby is crying. The reporter completely changed it and said we had to cut it short because her husband was coming home soon. Very unprofessional

4:04 in Urdu the woman says “Woh chah rahi hai ki aap jaldi wind up kardo kyunki unka baby ro raha hai (she wants you wrap up faster because her baby is crying)”, the journalist lies and says “because her husband was coming home.” What a pathetic liar.

It's crazy to think that that woman giving an interview without her husband knowing has done something that's more dangerous than I have ever done in my life. Such a small thing. So brave

meanwhile, on the other side of the border, India has the most number of pilots in the world. The difference between India and Pakistan is increasing day by day. As an Indian, I think Pakistan should go a bit easy on the religious and cultural front and focus more on economic well-being. You cannot ban half of your population from leaving home and expect your economy to do well. These women are brave. Hope everything goes well.

Just another reason why I’m grateful for being born in a free society. I’m sorry these women have to suffer this way.

Women commandos who still adhere to the purdah culture are geniuses. They can kick-ass and avoid detection at the same time!

EDIT: The comment section has now devolved into a weird religious debate. Some dude is quoting the Quran now saying that men should discipline women 'gently' if they misbehave. We need more women commandos.

By the way the lady who gave the conclusion statement is entirely wrong by saying that “all of the women we filmed were taking a risk simply by speaking to us”

Seriously?? All except one of those women come from families who fathers, brothers and husbands let them be in these high positions.

The people suffering are not only women but entire families who are displaced because of being refugees. That is why the interviewer was at the ‘Community center for displaced people’

The woman who was wearing the shuttlecock burqa was complaining about the Taliban not about her husband. She was complaining about not being able to work in the fields anymore. And in the end she had to go because her children were crying.

The interviewer also seemed to assume that just practicing purdah means that the women are being oppressed, keep in mind that there are thousands who cover simply because they feel a spiritual connection to their God and therefore abide by the religious laws. I have seen and met women who are doctors and scholars and computer science graduates who are completely covered.

The problem is political. In this case it is when a small group uses violent war tactics to cause problems within a country. The main intention is to destabilize the country. The media is then used to spread lies and to very conveniently change the narrative.

Heartbreaking to see women suppressed to be nothing more than furniture/objects due to men's insecurities. However, it was great to see in other areas of the country where strong women and girls are pushing forward despite the obstacles.

Poor women😢 I feel so upset for them. First they can’t work, then the government can’t help?!? These ladies are in serious trouble why would these men be like that?? I will never understand Pakistan and afghan men.
