Hunt leases are a great way to earn more income on your property. So what is a hunting lease? It is a pay to hunt system that goes hand in hand with simple economics of supply and demand. It is important to understand that your supply is important. Take stock of your situation and resources. A lot goes into leasing than is initially recognized. Be sure to examine, evaluate, and inventory your personality, land base, wildlife resources, human resources, and financial resources. There are several statues that help protect you when leasing land to hunters or anyone that is accessing your land. It may be a good idea to get hunt lease insurance. You can think of it as homeowner insurance for your property. It can include requirements within lease wording. There are several things you need to include in a lease. A few of those items are an introduction, purpose of the lease, terms of the lease, amounts of payment, and when due, conditions of the lease, breach of the contract clause, closing, liability waiver, and etc. If you have any questions please contact your local extension office.
