I'd like to point out the stark differences between how Buster and Crystal perform auditions, and how they view performance;
Buster, for all his flaws, legitimately loves the art of music and stage-craft. His auditions were in a brightly lit theatre open to everyone, and he almost always had a smile on his face.
Crystal, on the other hand, only cares about what makes him look good, and his auditions were in a dark room with him expecting immediate perfection.
And my favourite detail is Buster's face when Crystal hits the horn. I doubt, no matter how bad he thought someone's act was, that he ever interrupted it before it was finished.
