ENPA Savona salva ricci

PRESS RELEASE ENPA SAVONA - Urgent emergency in Liguria; for reasons presumably related to climate change, the births of small hedgehogs have lasted compared to the normal period and the Savona Animal Protection volunteers continue to rescue troubled specimens. The last litter of three offspring without a mother was recently recovered in a garden in the Villapiana area of Savona and is now being treated; the problem is that they will not become self-sufficient before the beginning of the bad season and it will therefore be necessary to shelter them throughout the winter; similar situations are occurring in the province of Genoa, where the CRAS (wild animal recovery center) of the ENPA of Campomorone is struggling with many shelters. That of hedgehogs is an emergency among the many of the injured and sickly injured wildlife, which grow more every year for a long time and which should alarm and interest the regional councils and councils, which the organization is responsible for by law rescue operations; but while several Regions have already provided (for example the neighboring Piedmont) in Liguria, wildlife continues to be seen only as a hunting object and a public rescue service is still shamefully absent. COMUNICATO STAMPA ENPA SAVONA - E’ emergenza ricci in Liguria; per motivi legati presumibilmente ai cambiamenti climatici, le nascite di piccoli ricci si sono protratte rispetto al normale periodo ed i volontari della Protezione Animali savonese continuano a soccorrere esemplari in difficoltà. L’ultima cucciolata di tre piccoli senza madre è stata recuperata recentemente in un giardino del quartiere savonese di Villapiana ed è ora in cura; il problema è che non diverranno autosufficienti prima dell’inizio della brutta stagione ed occorrerà quindi ricoverarli per tutto l‘inverno; analoghe situazioni si stanno verificando in provincia di Genova, dove il CRAS (centro recupero animali selvatici) dell’Enpa di Campomorone è alle prese con molti ricoveri. Quella dei ricci è un’emergenza tra le tante della fauna selvatica ferita, malata ed in difficoltà, che crescono ogni anno di più da molto tempo e che dovrebbero allarmare ed interessare i Consigli e le Giunte regionali, cui spetta per legge l’organizzazione dei soccorsi; ma mentre diverse Regioni hanno già provveduto (ad esempio il confinante Piemonte) in Liguria la fauna selvatica continua ad essere vista solo come oggetto di caccia ed un servizio pubblico di soccorso è ancora vergognosamente assente.
