Thanks for this. I’m guessing I have to wait. I uploaded an HDR video 30 minutes ago and the colors are so dull compared to the original video. In hindsight, thought, the same thing happened to my other HDR reels, but today when I check on them they look like their typical full HDR color. I’m guessing not being patient enough is my issue, but it’s frustrating. How hard would it be for Instagram to explain this to us. One simple pop up explaining the process that you could check to never see again would do the trick.

I export 4k 60fps hdr reel shot on 13pro as 1080p 30fps hdr in VN app. The reel doesn’t post as HDR, plus the reel becomes slight black when uploaded, so the reel look very low in brightness. Any idea how to post my reel?

Whenever i upload a hdr reel. After upload, when i visit that reel from another account it’s colour are so saturated and if the reel is bit low light type it become dark. How can i fix this?

I have a case where my HDR Reel is being shown to my own account as HDR but to followers and when i switch to my secondary account and view it, it displays dark and as SDR. Is this scenario due to the processing time Instagram takes for the material?

i have i phone 12 its hdr is only on 30 fps will it work on 12 even though i have uploaded hdr 30 but didn’t upload as hdr

Great video! I want to add that I shot in ProRes HDR 4k 30fps, edited it in Premiere Pro, exported it as ProRes HDR, and then inputted in the app called Clips and exported it still as HDR to reduce the file size. Still, the footage initially looked dark and less sharp than the original. However, the key was, just as you said at 0:52, that it took 12 hours of the post being online for Instagram to process it, and the HDR magically turned on, and on the non-HDR screen, the quality improved with brightness and sharp. SO CRAZY!

I uploaded an undedited video, 4k, 60fps and hdr on instagram to test. It uploaded at first as hdr but then in went back to normal video (with high af contrast). I thought waiting helps but after 8 hours it still didn’t convert to hdr yet. Do you know why it doesn’t work for me but for some it does?

My videos are hdr (can see that on the top left corner when watching it from my album) but all of them are hd and not 4k and some are 30fp and some 60fp, would instagram still upload them as hdr?
