Powerful words... "It didn't come for free."

Every single interview with this man is like listening to someone who actually has some wisdom to share. What a bright and thoughtful mind.

You can see the emotion in Ethan’s eyes man, I bet he was close to tearing up talking about them. Phenomenal actors all three of them

Wow, I feel he was on the edge of tears talking about this, such respect for two actors and friends who are gone

Ethan is a bright guy. He knows and understands some deep truths about life. This is a profound tribute to his friends.

Wow...look how emotional Hawke gets. It comes from recognizing the artistry of 2 masters of their crafts.
I'm an actor, and I met PS Hoffman outside of the theatre after watching him on stage in "Death of a Salesman" ...just amazing.
I told him watching him was watching a master class. He thanked me, shook my hand and he turned and walked away.
Dressed in a pair of shorts, t-shirt and running shoes. One would never know that he was by far one of the most masterful artists of his and my generation.
I'll never forget that moment.

Ethan Hawke rocks. Such a kind, alert, and sympathetic person.

Robin’s passing really affected me. He was there throughout my life from Mork and Mindy on tv and all the great films and tv appearances. Making everyone laugh, and creating poignant meaningful roles that struck your heart as well as your sense of humor. Then he was just gone. RIP Robin and know that you brought joy and laughter to millions for decades. We earthlings sure do miss you.

Ethan and Keanu.. two child actors who grew up to become movie stars, but with 99.9% certainty, I'd bet they both remained incredibly genuine and kind. 😊

I like how humble and unassuming Ethan Hawke is. How genuine and kind his words of others are. He is so very raw and vulnerable in this clip. Loads of respect for him

They were both legends. As is Ethan. I hate that Robin and Phillip are gone. Amazing artists. 🥂❤️

It didn’t come for free……. powerful words. The depth of empathy Philip Seymour Hoffman expressed…
his understanding of what it means to be human is almost philosophical.
Imagining his suffering shatters my heart.

Ethan Hawke is the only famous actor I've met in real life. I met him and his wife and kids after a play in London. He was leaving his show and we all walked the same way to the tube so got to chat a bit. He was super nice and down to Earth.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman was my absolute favorite actor. I actually got clean off hard drugs a decade ago. The morning that I quit and went in for treatment was on the same day that Robin Williams committed suicide.

Been clean for the past 10 years though (August 11th), but their deaths really hit me in a way that was a stark "wake up call".

I felt this. Robin was the first of only two celebrities I’ve ever actually cried over. Because he was so touching and special and made it ok to be weird and funny. All through my childhood he spoke wisdom and comfort to me. From Mork and Mindy, to Patch Adams, to Miss Doubtfire, to What Dreams May Come.
Loved you Mr Williams. You and Tony Bourdain have a special place in my heart.

I've watched this over 100 times. I just love how emotional he is. While still maintaining composure...

Robin Williams was the first famous person I cried over when he died. I have depression & I had been down that route of not wanting to be here. I just thought of how excruciating the pain he was feeling was & my heart broke for him. Genius like his does not come for free.
