Absolutely nailed it, I’m an olive oil producer we dropped USDA Organic because of this reason. We now sell as “Bio-neutral” and use no pesticides. 🤤

Finally somebody said it! But my issue is the FDA approved the "organic" chemicals. Why trust the FDA? How do we actually know organic food has not been sprayed with Roundup?

A lot of organic farmers also use conservation tillage which is immensely important for soil ecology. It helps prevents erosion and run off which causes heavy pollution to nearby soils and water systems. Organic is more than the food itself, it is a more sustainable practice overall. Many organic farmers also use cover crops and companion crops so the use of herbicides is not required. In addition to that, with cover crop and conservation tillage, the use of even organic approved fertilizers is limited due to the amount of organic matter in the soil. Organic farming practices generally increase biological diversity which increases crop production without the use of fertilizers. Organic goes much deeper than what types of fertilizers are used

I figured that was the case for fruits and vegetables. My family in Mexico grow their own crops and they don’t spray pesticides. I always look at their vegetables/fruits and they almost always have bugs inside

Everyone should know that you can greatly reduce pesticide consumption by soaking all produce in baking soda water for at least 15 minutes. The baking soda absorbs the nasties and rinses off. Leaving fresh clean produce.

Kind of true, but also misleading. I work in agriculture, organic simply means no synthetic chemicals are used, such as bifenthrin or lambdacyathrin. Certified organic “pesticides” are generally naturally derived from essential oils and either repel or kill insects(by clogging their breathing pores.) these “pesticides” generally don’t even have EPA registration meaning they have no restrictions. A popular blend is peppermint oil and rosemary oil, both harmless to humans. There are other means of control used that are approved by the USDA, but this is just an example.
