I am the founder of the award-winning sustainable building company, The Conscious Builder. My area of expertise is in building to higher standards such as Passive House, R-2000, Net Zero Energy and Energy Star. I am committed to educating people on how to build and live more consciously.

With 4 half-brothers, 2 half-sisters, 3 step-siblings and parents who have been divorced and remarried 4 times each, I learned to adapt to change from a young age. At one home I was the baby and at the other home I was the role model.

Growing up, I was always building - everything from Lego to tree forts. From my father I learned the importance of teamwork through competitive team sports. From my mother I learned the value of hardwork and dedication as I watched her grow and eventually sell her business. When I started my construction career at the age of 17, I put my childhood lessons to work and never looked back.

When I first started my construction company, it was just like every other company. I just wanted to do good work and make a good living. It was not until my wife, Natasha, and I attended our first Tony Robbins event in 2012 that my mindset shifted and I started to ask myself "Why?"

Then, when Natasha and I found out we were having a child, everything clicked. If I was going to tell this child that he could do anything he wanted and become whoever he wanted, I would have to lead by example. I wanted my son to be proud of me and look up to me. I wanted to be the hero in his eyes.

That's when The Conscious Builder was born.

Now, I’m on a mission to make sure that everybody in the world has a healthy, comfortable and efficient home to live in.

I know that I can't do this alone which is why I am dedicated to doing my own projects with my team and also educating others on how they can do it for themselves or for their businesses.

Anybody can build a house but it takes real dedication to build a home. This is obvious because there's no shortage of poorly built houses that are harming the environment and the people who live in them.
