Wow, how am I just discovering this? I've been on quite the healing journey the past few years. Releasing old versions of myself as well as relationships that have helped keep me stuck. A few months ago I could not get this song out of my head. I didn't know the name or who it was by but it soon became my top played song. 2yrs ago in the thick of some of my darkest days I awoke at 5:55am to Daughtry's song Changes are Coming blaring in my head as if someone had stuck a speaker by my head. That summer I saw him live for the 1st time and it was the start of some major changes. I'm still struggling with the emotional side of things and recently had a good breakdown/breakthrough to Daughtry's Pieces. To discover this version tonight at a time where I find myself observering the past and once again feeling the pain of letting go. I take this as a sign that I made the right call. You can't help someone who's not ready to change but we can let go and heal ourselves. Thank you for this beautiful collaboration.
