Thanks for the chat and so glad your mom had a fun birthday with you. Also, yes, I wouldn’t risk climbing high up on that big ladder, though it has been handy, dad is indeed needed for your safety. Now, speaking of the furniture layout, here’s a suggestion. Angle the sofa back on the carpet corner facing towards the Christmas tree. Place chairs on either side front of sofa, add poufs together center front of sofa. Now the temporary coffee table can be placed in two ways (suggested) right in front of the poufs to make a square shape or place table centered behind the sofa for coffee mugs. Maybe later get a higher table (oval shaped?) with storage (glass front or wood slider, what ever fits). Also, I love and knew the hearth would be fantastic. You are so handy! Anyway, happy birthday Mom, and all the best with full enjoyment for you and your family this holiday season! Cheers!!
