Winded Voyage | Episode 3 | French Oldies But Goodies

Winded Voyage, Episode 3 takes us to the south of France so we can have a look at real boats I saw online. It's about a six hour drive from Montreux Switzerland to Palavas-les-Flots, my first destination. I scheduled meetings with different brokers and a variety of different boats, from size, condition and of course prices. The selection is vast, and the only way to get a feeling for a boat is to get inside it. In this episode you get a real inside look at vessels for sale in a small part of the south of France. Will I find my vessel for my Winded Voyage? Stay tuned.

Ive lived in texas all my life. Close to Florida, where the largest selection of used and boats for sale are, so I am told. That is where I am looking for my boat/ home

Great videos.  Your approach is correct.  No use in rushing when you are spending that much money and changing your life style.  Time spent sorting thru boats will save on regrets in the future.  I have a small question.  Have you ruled out catamaran?

Keep in mind that the 39k€ Contest had e.g. a windgenerator and newer marine electronics aboard (from what I saw). These things + if you need professional help at refurbishing something like the 15k€ boat will add up easily. I would always go for the better equipped / maintained boat, even if the initial price is higher :-)
But anyways, love these maritime areas too. Where you can feel the sailing spirit in the air!

A pet peeve of mine, seeing good boats rotting away in the weather.
Put a tarp on it. Pull it under a roof somewhere. Just dont leave it out to rot.
In Texas where I live the sun is brutal. Unforgiving. I see a lot of boats, some new or almost new, sitting out and weathering away. Makes me pretty upset.
