It’s strange for me thinking back on this. First time I saw AssClass anywhere, I thought it would be a typical weird anime about a goofy-looking creature. Took me a while to actually sit down and watch it (even so, I think I saw an abridged of it first).
Now, years after it has ended, this odd-sounding anime has given me motivation in life where I had none before. People often used to tell me half-jokingly that I should become a history teacher considering the enthusiasm with which I talked about the subject, and I never took them seriously. Now, I’m on my way to become one, and that’s in no small part because of Koro-sensei. I may not be a superhuman ex-assassin who can fly at mach 20, fire laser beams, and regenerate lost limbs, but his desire to help these kids be the best they can be has inspired me to no end, and if I become even half the teacher he was I will be content.
Thank you, Koro sensei, and class E. From the bottom of my heart.

Assassination classroom almost tricked me into wanting to be a teacher as a kid. Maybe if I was an ultra powerful squid man then I'd give it a try.


Edit: I am now pursuing teaching abroad as a career. Looks like they got me after all.

Edit 2. Currently I am working as an early literacy tutor to save up money to move to Spain to teach English.

Edit 3. I leave in about a month. I don't know what the future holds for me. But I'd like to do something that matters with it. I hope you will do the same.

Edit 4. Its been four years since I made the original comment and god i feel old. Anyway I'm currently living in a shitty flat in Spain working as a language assistant. The pay is ass and the commute is a pain but I've been enjoying it. I'm planning on getting my TEFL certification so I can get a job that actually pays.

Edit 5: hey hey people. It is currently 2024 and I am back in my home country. I am now tefl certified and I'm currently saving up money to go teach abroad again. This time I'm thinking Korea.
