I fully agree with you. Watching him smiling on a new picture makes me kind of smiling as well. And as a music listener I'd wish nothing more than a new Phil Collins studio album or similar things. But we have to accept the truth that he likely keeps retired. Anyway, all fans should preserve his beautiful body of work and hence his legacy as long as possible. May he be further years alive!

Being younger and getting into Genesis and Phil on the tail end of their careers, I was always bummed out that both Peter and Phil stopped releasing new original albums basically at the same time, and had sort of accepted that I would never hear anything new from them.

So when Peter put out new music last year, I was thrilled and really enjoyed experiencing new material. I don't know if Phil is up to putting together a whole album, but to even get just a new song that's maybe like a reflection on his life and career, would be amazing to hear. Obviously an album would be better, but even just a song to sort of put a bow on everything would be great.

I understand that he's not healthy enough these days to put out new music. BUT. He could give his unreleased music the "Freddie Mercury" treatment... let people close to him or have worked closely with him (ahem... Hugh Padgham) rework these unreleased songs using the vocals recorded with his longtime backing band, including horns. If the drum work doesn't exist (meaning it's just programmed percussion), his sons Simon and Nic could do the drumming on the tracks. I don't see why this couldn't work.

Phil was and is an amazing artist. Only a few singer-songwriters can hold a candle to him. His catalog stands on its own. But if he’s physically able, I would love to hear new music. Or remixes or re-interpretations of his work. Anything from Phil is good.

I'm really glad to see Phil is looking a lot better these days. 2022 for the last Domino tour he looked really bad and frail, he was having a hard time breathing and even at one point and one of his shows he was escorted to his chair at the beginning of the for which had me very worried. I'm glad to she's looking a lot better.

Before I purchased an original vinyl pressing of the album Both Sides, I had heard rumblings of Phil Collins remastering and reissuing his entire catalog. If this was true, I was just going to wait and purchase the reissues on vinyl when they got released.
So I reached out to management as well to make sure. When I got a reply, they said
"There's been no word on any remastered albums." Less than a month later, the news about the remasters was officially announced.
Just because management tells us "NO" doesn't mean that's the truth.

I saw some of the articles as well. Yes, Phil looks great. Was nice to see a recent picture of him with that super smile. I was a bit sceptical about new music from Phil
but was hoping it was true.
I agree with your assessment of the vocals. I would snap up anything new or even new mixes.

GET PHIL VOTED IN! Such an incredible lapse in judgment by the HOF.
Regardless of current popularity (or lack of it) Mr. Collins will go down in history as one of his generation's most musically gifted human beings. The depth breath of his insights, amazing lyrics, and musical expertise is staggering.

I had not seen that recent photo and agree he looks so much better than a year or so ago. For him to be reasonably healthy would satisfy my deepest wish. Phil has given us so much of himself.

I was just happy to see a recent photo and to see him smiling. He looks healthier than he did a couple of years ago and I hope he’s just doing what makes him happy. ❤

Been a life-long fan of Phil and Genesis and so glad I got to see him on his 'Not Dead Yet' tour in 2017 when his voice was still in reasonably good shape. After not seeing or hearing anything about him since the end of the 'Last Domino' tour I really was fearing the worst so to see him again at all is such a great relief and, yes, he should be left in peace now and enjoy a thoroughly well-earned retirement - he owes us nothing more. I do hope though that he will get into the HOF as a solo artist while he is still with us (and even get a knighthood considering his services not just to music but also to humanitarian causes). 🥁 🎶 🙏

Good on you for actually fact checking. Phil is looking happy in the pic, which is the most important thing. Great point about Johnny Cash and Bowie working until they passed.

I think Phil's given us enough music - there's a wealth of material there - quite a discography for any man. Rest up Phil, you've got nothing to prove
