Ace Combat 7 Top Gun Maverick DLC Review - Is It Worth It?

Project Aces released what could possibly be the last Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown DLC titled Top Gun: Maverick Aircraft Set DLC. It was released on 26 May 2022 and it costs around $30. This video will go into detail about the contents of this DLC.

honestly once you start purchasing DLC planes you will very quickly find that most of the base game is completely outclassed by just about everything, save a few key exceptions

I loved this review! You highlighted the benefits and disadvantages of the DLC in a coherent manner. As someone who is very fond of Top Gun much like the vast majority of Ace Combat players, I found myself utilizing the contents of the DLC to a great extent in both campaign and multiplayer. I’m glad to say that the DLC was definitely worth it, providing hours of uninterrupted fun. Great work! :)

Im a year late but screw it. Because it is so expensive the DLC should have included all aircraft from both movies. Such as all for mentioned planes including, the "MiG-28" which was an F-5 painted in Soviet colors. The A-4 Skyhawk, which was the aggressior aircraft flown by Top Gun instructors in the first movie. And Mavericks P-51 Mustang for "Free Flights".

1:19 If I'm not mistaken, the Maverick Ultimate Edition includes those "8 popular nicknames from past games", but if I recall correctly, there's no other way to get them. They're useless, of course, but it's a small fact.

One thing that pissed me off is that i bought all 3 of the aircrafts in the experimental fighter jet bundle separately, yet i didn’t get the skins and emblems for the other aircrafts. If i wanted to get that one skin for the su 57 i would have to spend $12 as if i were buying all 3 planes all over again because they don’t want to sell skin and emblem bundles separately. Uninstalling.

I bought the DLC+the Game on a uber discount, and boy I cannot stop using Mav's F15s and F18s. Funnily enough always with the Hangman Emblem. 10/10 would buy again

I just bought this game today as with the Maverick DLC it's just around 11 pounds. There's a huge discount now so better check it! Can't wait to play it as I really love Top Gun and long ago I played Ace Combat 3 literally every day... :) Will be good to get back as a pilot.

Thank you for the helpful video. Currently there’s an Xbox Marketplace sale of the Top Gun edition of the game for 15$. I already own it, but found that the dlc would be 20$, so I just bought the bundle for the planes. Sale lasts 10 more days.

The 5th gen fighter is awesome because it lets you use the LACM, and lets you carry significantly more than any other plane in the game.

Ace combat 7 gets 5 stars for game play and 1 star for story. I feel the game is still worth playing and getting amazing planes to early would spoil early levels. I'm looking forward to playing the dlc.

Half of these separate planes should have been just skins. No need for "TGM" versions of the planes, and there definitely wasn't any need for a literal copy-paste SU-57 with slightly different stats. Just give us the regular E-model Hornet and A-model Hornet with all skins in one place, and add some "5th Gen Fighter" skins on the Felon that we already have.

I pirated the entire game and flew all of the planes. The base fighters are all uou basically need thats it dont buy anything else.
