1948 Survivors Narrate How Israel Stole Palestine

OnePath Network sat down with survivors of the 1948 Nakba, and those who were directly impacted. They narrate to us first hand how Israel forcefully displaced and ethnically cleansed the Palestinian people.

These individuals are now residing in Australia, and they narrate their lived experiences from the events of 1948 and subsequent events.

My grandmother is a holocaust survivor and was born in 1933 in Poland. She told me the horrors she experienced should never happen again to anyone on this planet. She explained to me how Israel acts no different than the nazis did to her and our family in the 40s. I'm not practicing Judaism anymore but god bless all of you that stand brave to tell you stories.

I am a Palestinian, I am 19 years old and my grandfather was among the people who were displaced in 1948 from a city called Safed in northern Palestine. He sat down with and told me the whole story. And I have to say, Israel is really trying its absolute best to alter the past and try to hide what it did. He had a house there where my family lived and now we have no idea what happened to it, I would assume it was demolished so some Settlers could rebuild a better house in its place.

Nakba, first thing I know when I was little about palestine, back in 80's. I read some of stories from actual people who experience those, very sad and understand the pain since we just become independence few decades ago. Born and grew in Indonesia, I have more balance news from both side, and most of us know what really happened.

Palestine was the first one who acknowledge Indonesian independence and chip in some money to donated to first indonesian president. One day you will be independent like before, and hopefully all of you will be happy, if not now, later in after life. One day we indonesian will be the first one to congratulate and acknowledge your freedom when you gain a full freedom for your palestinian people regardless of believes.The day wont come tomorrow, but it will eventually come.
