I'm Philly we don't have a 1st Street and Main Street is actually at the bottom of the list of important streets in the city. We call ours Front Street. It's the end of the first of the numbered streets and the start of the lettered streets. So you have 2nd Street, Master Street, Front Street, A Street and so on.
