First! Also in case the news hasn't reached you yet, Malaysia's Wave 2 qualifiers just concluded the past week. No stream sadly, but the results are:

Champion: Miragegao
Runner-up: Fenrir Takemika
Top 4: Tao Loop (red base) and 7GDL
Top 8: 2 Tao Loop, 1 Imperial, 1 Magna X

I know I say this every time, but I just love seeing Shinegreymon/Marcus pop up in these reports. I may use a different deck in tournaments, but t's still my favorite deck to this day.

I wonder if you can do a Calumon build with the new EX-08 Gallantmon stuff like the build shown here? I feel like you'd lose room for the good new Guilmon X, but I suppose it could work maybe?

my experience as asia player, purple hybrid as engine now is not in the right meta. first, todays top deck usually play from behind so PH cannot control em, it makes velgr control ability kinda useless. second, with nearly 0 defense (no blocker or blast ace) its an uphill battle fighting against fast deck (ancient grey, takemika, imperials) heck its also struggling vs magnamon x if they complete their setup first. sure PH can use deckout route but its slow af right now and the pay off isn't even great. the only saving grace for PH is when facing taoloop, lkx and any slower deck that need longer setup. tldr; its a midrange deck that lose to OTK deck and excel fighting slower deck
