Best way to catch a knuckleball is to wait for it to hit the backstop then go and pick it up

The more I watch knuckle balm throwers the more I consider my uncle an asshole! I was in the 7th grade and didn’t even play baseball. I’m an athlete I could catch I ball no problem but as I said I didn’t play. He was playing in a semi pro league with retired college atheletes and pros. He was doing some pitching. He says, “hey, do me a favor and catch this pitch…” now mind you I didn’t play the game. I have no fkn idea what a knuckleball was. This fkn thing zips full speed. It wasn’t a gawd damn lob. It wasn’t thrown pretty damn hard and the spin was absolutely fkn stpd. It moved around so much and somehow ended up in my damn glove. I caught it but no way in hell I was catching another one. Over the years I realize more and more that I shouldn’t have caught that ball. Especially after watching these guys miss. That damn ball coulda knocked my teeth out.
