This is a great start.  As a transgender woman who is also a physician, I have personally experienced multiple episodes where I have been refused medical care or it was done incorrectly.  Or I've had to educate the physician about how to care for me.  So many of the transgender people I know have heard "We don't take care of your kind of people".  This needs to change.  Education about how to care for transgender people should be a routine part of every medical school's curriculum.
