I will remember this when my MG4 SE with LFP is rolling along at 80kw 😂 stress free charging just chilled out

I love my BYD, has not disappointed me in the least.

The RWD Highland battery tech is awesome compared to my previous LR tech. Always charging it to 100%, and after 9700 kilometers, the estimated degradation is 0.91%, or 4 kilometers. And on SuC I have over 80kW charging speeds after 80% SoC.
I'm happy I didn't wait this long for the RWD review

MG 4 won to 80%, curve shows good result and it's 64kw.

When you look at charge time to 80% (a typical limit during long highway trips), the Highland and MG4 were within 1% - 2% of each other with the MG4 slightly ahead, and to 90% charge the positions were reversed. Since the charge levels were so close at those limits, I don't think charging time makes much difference between the two vehicles. Thanks for the in depth testing Bjorn! This is one of the reasons your reviews are the best on the internet.

on my 2023 RWD Model 3 with LFP battery, I still get a little over 40kw at 95% SOC. This is on an American made (Fremont CA) in Canada either on a supercharger or other public CCS level 3 chargers. 98%... and still at 30kW

A timer would be very nice for these videos so you can see the actual charge time

You got to use a ioniq 5 58kw (Lfp) you will be amazed with the charging curve.

Would love to see a test of an “older” M3
LFP to see how it’s aged

Hmm temperature on mg4 battery was not impressive -cold gating or not possible to set heating like on Tesla for optimal charging temperature ?which you was saying is around 40 degrees when starting to charge the car on 1000km challenge

Looking forward to seeing the comparison between Volvo EX30 LFP 51kWh vs Tesla M3 vs Jeep Avenger

Charging faster at higher states of charge does seem to be an LFP benefit. My BYD Dolphin will pull 1-1.5C up to 85%, then drop to 0.5C till 95%, then 0.25C to 100%. It takes the pressure off optimising charging stops

Lets do some math:
If you charge the Highland from 10% to only 50% you get about 22.5kWh in 12min which translates into 150km of range at 150Wh/km. The average C rate is 2.

Charging from 10% to 80% takes 27min and you get 39.4kWh or 263km of range at 150Wh/km. The average C rate slows down to 1.56.

If you don't charge deep, the charging speed of the standard range Highland is quite impressive due to the 170kW peak in the beginning. But I would like to see that sustained for longer in upcoming Tesla vehicles.

I'm actually a bit disappointed in Tesla regarding the development of charging speed. My lr AWD from 2019 is still the fastest charging model 3. It charges at 250 kW all the way up to 27 percent. All the new cars drop almost instantly, both the Sr and the lr versions

The model 3 highland is the RWD one? Kinda low range comparing with Long Range which shows 440 km at 80% and 550 at 100%.

In only my opinion is the super small peak of the Tesla's ridiculous

Hmm 🤔 is Bjørn sitting in an Xpeng G6?

Btw Bjorn Tesla unlocked 350kw charging in some chargers in the US, can't wait to see them roll that out everywhere 😂

The MG4 seems to be over reporting SOC at the start of the charging session; it's peaking at ~135kw but shows almost the same SOC when the Teslas' charge tapers to 135kw.

Is there a test out there yet for Ex30 LFP?
