C7 Corvette: Sun Visor Decal Removal & Cleaning

I really hate these warning decals on the Corvettes sun visor, especially since it's just right in your face when you're driving. The sun visors are Alcantara and you can't be overly aggressive with it, so I broke out my Tasca steamer and went to town on the decals. I ended up with pretty decent results.

The glass broke on my driver side sunvisor, how do I replace it. Thanks

@15:00 you can clearly see the garage homelink buttons on the visor. Then editing magic cuts and the correct visor is on the passenger side. :) I need to do this to my C7, but don't have a steamer. Looked so good when I peeled them of my ND Miata though which was just plastic visors.

Just bought a C7 the idoit before me cover the decals with furnace tape. I pull the furnace tape off which destroyed the decals
Now i have to buy new decals. Why any one would fuck around taking decals off beats me.

Matt you should start trying to find a dialed in upholstery shop. Getting factory items recovered might be better than trying to find decent aftermarket parts.

Isn't that brush to aggressive for the Alcantara?

Looks great. Love how versatile steam cleaners can be. Use mine all the time for all kinds of things - cleaning, removing etc.

GM take notice put the sticker on the inside of the mirror cover that way you could read it once and be done it’s not like you have to refer to that every time you drive the car and it still there for the next person who buys it looks much better Matt

What steamer are you currently using these days?

Just a heads up I have the same steamer and use it on all kinds of cars and interiors and have had no issues, except Porsche leather is really thin and can dry up easily and I burnt some leather when trying to clean a seat using the same method I had on every other car i've used it on. - Great video. Those warning labels have always bothered me too.

If the outline is still noticeable after the sun has got to it try hit it with a leather sanding pad to feather it out! Should work in blending the outline! BTW I love your work man, probably the most satisfying detailer to watch on YouTube!

Is those green towels the All Purpose Towel from The Rag Company?

Keep it simple, leave them on the car and just use a regular hairdryer - carefully, - with roof off. when you heat up the decal do not overheat the backing. if you have residue use GOO BE GONE, but test first on the edge first...

Probably not suede cause you wet suede like that, it will lay down. Just like a jacket. Wear it in the rain and you ruined it
