I know somebody who was born with hypospadias and was operated 20 years ago by a plastic surgeon and it caused a lot of trouble. In my opinion an operation can cause more problems than benefits. I am so very sorry for this person. Parents please be cautious.

Retracting the foreskin forcibly before they are old enough can be harmful, and will damage the penis. Please do not pull back or retract the foreskin until it can be done without resistance, age varies, but it can typically be done around ages 7 and up.
