Lads says they dont 'currently' have plans for major updates to the game at this time, or any kind of sequel. So far, it's just about honoring its memory? which doesn't make sense to get a new development team and create a discord for spore...something tells me they're bad at lying or were all just exaggerating and dying for Spore 2 to be released. HOWEVER, there still could be hope, so our childhood spirits may yet rest peacefully.

This is really awesome and all, and I'm so excited to see my childhood game return.

Though, if they don't plan on releasing any major updates or new content, I think they should make an SDK (make the game moddable on the same level as Minecraft, Skyrim, and Fallout 4) for the many people with modding skills to help carry the torch.

Still, though, I'm glad that new life is being brought into this gem, and it hasn't been closed down like so many MMOs and online service games have before.

I’m fine with there not being any sequel being planned. A remaster that smoothes out the experience and runs on modern hardware somewhere down the line could be neat though

As someone from a certain cartoon character said: "Don't let the flame die out!" I never know of any game that looks like Spore that is close to this game itself, so I'm happy the dev still cares about Spore.

I also thought of a scenario on, what if Maxis and CnC were bought by another large company like Microsoft, will they finally put the dev back? Will there be a new game? Will it go for a better or worse? Who knows, I just want EA to stophold them hostage.

How bad things are with ea, that they bothered to remember about spore? What dark horrors of the micro transaction hell might we witness? Truly curious, what is the reason behind this update, especialy since they're not interested in the further development of the game. It would be nice, if they made some qol updates, like auto saving, and overall stability of the game could be better (I remember several ctd in my latest attempt).
