Loved the story about your mother. Much respect for her and your memories!

My mother and her sister (my auntie) both have cancer, luckily they are both still with me and fighting. I do what I can as any family member would. Thank you for the story, I love to listen and learn from the people I watch and respect. Thank you for the countless hours you spend on audio to help and inform us.

The way we encode memories with music is different than the normal way we store memories. They are using music to help slow Alzheimer's. Many patients are finding they have lost everything but those memories attached to music.

As a side, you do you. Your authenticity is what always brings me back to your channel.

A philosopher is a lover of wisdom, not a lover of arguments.
An audiophile is a lover of music, not a lover of headphones or speakers.

I'm glad you went TMI on this vid man. I never really thought about it, but I buy all this stuff based on badseed tech, Valours, and Z reviews videos but I dont know shit about them. You just became my favorite music guy by doing this video right here.

That wasn't TMI... that was nice. You are breaking down the 4th wall. Thanks for sharing. We can see you love this stuff. I think that is why we listen to you. Keep at it Chris.

You are right bro. It happens to me all the time. MUSIC has the power to bring back those memories emotionally more than anything.
When ever I listen music (80s) I listened when I was a kid, it brings back those memories and most of time makes me cry. I MISS THOSE TIMES MAN.

Today you sounds damm good and right! My mother was a music lover too and to me is a way to remember her, damm cancer. Tubes are tricky... some times you have to warm up first before to take out all power of it the other thing cames to my mind is on japan electricity works diffferent and may cause a problem...

Keep doing it your way mate! After having spent some time with the HD800s, I might suggest trying (somehow) to get your hands on a pair of Audeze LCD-2s (not LCD-1s or 3s or the X, but the 2). At the same 'Audiophile' level as the HD800 but they are two different sides of the same coin. Very much the benchmark for the classic Planar sound. I would welcome your impressions. BTW: When I auditioned the 800s, I thought they artificially made EVERYTHING big. Like the sounds where being pumped through some hi-tech AI computer that placed instruments in a virtual room then combined and presented to you as a facsimile of music. But I don't find them all that musical. Clinical and articulate yes but not musical. They stimulate the wrong part of the brain for me. Cheers!

...seems like a capacitor and or resistor prob letting excessive voltage in the circuit get to that tube. Been tube swapping on my lg Yaqin MC100b cannot say I ever had that issue to give u any more insight.

Glad u devote a day to full size cans, def part of our hobby !! Thx

Your Mom and I are about ...of the same era and music tastes . Music has stood the test of time 😁🤟🏻Reminds me of my Dad in his 70’s digging on Pat Benatar, Beatles, a man who never played FM but would love to listen to FM rock like WNEW NY when I listened on parents Zenith console stereo he would smile! Great memories thx!!

Music first, gear second keep up the good work.

Sorry for asking a few times already but drop having the shozy only for a few more hours now I want to ask again:

could you elaborate what voy3 does "worse" than 1.4? For me I think the 1.4 will fit better but the voy3 seems really good as well.
how does the tuning possibility affect the voy3?

sry for the inconvenience and thank you very much in advance.

There was nothing you could have done to make the tube react that way. I’ve dealt with tubes in guitar amps for 30+ years. It was a bad tube. I really like the idea of you reviewing older gear as well. Good gear is good gear...it doesn’t have to be new!
