The May 4th Movement aka New Culture Movement is probably the most important event in Chinese history that you never heard of. What started as student protests against the unfair treatment China received at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 evolved into a cultural, political and literary movement that made the written Chinese language more accessible to all and provided the catalyst to the rise of the Chinese Communist Party. Good and clear explanation about this movement. Since 1949, the Chinese govt has designated 4 May as their Youth Day.

What is the name of the scholar who promoted the new written language and studied under John Dewey? Sorry I would like to do more research, but I need the correct spelling.

In India we read about May 4th Movement.

We have somewhat abnormal relationship but I want China to become a friend of India. 🙏🏻
