I Played Free Games That Nobody Plays

#steam #100days

Steam has a lot of games, but most of them have one big problem. They cost money. However, the ones that don’t cost money have an even bigger problem. They’re bad, and I mean really bad. That is why I have downloaded 100 free games, and my goal is to find the one that is…um…not as garbage as the others.

I’m actually kinda sad you didn’t get to play spooky’s jump scare mansion long enough to see how fleshed out it is. It’s a really high quality game and I just wish you played it for longer

spooky’s jumpscare mansion is actually much more scarier and fleshed out the further you get into the game

The fact that you didn't put Spooky's House of Jumpscare in the eight top games, really speaks volumes about playing a game to the end before judging it.
Also that one shameless penguin mario copy is really known in my country, it's called SuperTux and came included in most of the government's educational laptops they once offered to schools in the late 2000s, and I remember it fondly because of that.

Dev of 8:11 Owlone in the Woods here!
Very surprised to see footage of my free little game.
I will definitely take "terrible concept, great execution" for sure.
Thanks for playing!

i like how Spooky's mansion manage to properly trick you to think it's a crappy indie game, like it's perfectly made to hide how good it is where you literally has to play it with he intent to finish it since it's literally 100 rooms/levels where you won't see the actual content until around room 50

"How fish are made" is a great game with a deep meaning about life and death and our insecurities when taking decisions, it's a shame you didn't got to play it all cuz it's truly a nice experience.

You have no clue how fast I went for that spacebar when you faded into the maze game, my heart is still pounding

Cube escape is a good franchise. It still fascinates me how far it got just from a 2d point and click puzzle game. The lore is surprisingly deep too. It's a shame that it takes times to enjoy it.

purrgatory/ the cat purgatory game is actually a beautiful visual novel, it has extremely well written characters and music, and the good ending will make a grown man cry (in a good way)

Glad you gave Fishing Planet some love. It's a seriously overlooked game for many because it's a fishing game. Me and a couple of other streamers stumbled on a streamer, an elderly gentlemen playing this fishing game. We were drawn to his stream because this man is blind as a bat and sits super close to the screen. He actually turned out to by a really nice guy and we still often pop into his streams to say hello. He was telling us about how he loved this fishing game, being very old and unable to see anything at any far distance, it was a way for him to continue his hobby, especially as it was free. We decided to check it out because he was having so much fun, and before we knew it, we were hooked too (pun totally intended). Our other streamer friends noticed we were playing a fishing game, wondering what on earth we were doing, and they too soon got reeled in (sorry). Wasn't long before about 20 of us were playing and streaming the game daily.

tl/dr: Fishing Planet kicks ass.

Great video, but the art is "AVERAGE AT BEST"?!?!?! 3:23 IDK man, as an indie dev myself, this being FREE on top of everything that is some pretty amazing art with how cohesive it is and how it matches the game!

(NOT NEGATIVITY just wanted to side with the devs here, I have HUGE respect for devs making free games on a pricy publishing platform LOL)

Aperature Desk Job was designed as a Steam Deck tutorial game. I played it on my Deck, and it was a charming little game. Picks up on the portal 2 story with some follow up to a few characters.

11:22 OH MY GOD, I unlocked a childhood memory.

If you ask any young person in Portugal the name of the game #78 they will immediately recognize it. It's SuperTux, in 2008/09 the Portuguese government sent all children a small portable computer so that we could start using them in schools, it came with some games including this one. You have no idea how big this game was.
