Nursing Influencer Haley Okula Dies At 33 From Childbirth Complications

The husband of nursing content creator Hailey Okula is mourning her tragic passing after she welcomed their baby. This week, Matt Okula shared the sad news that his wife – known to her many social media followers as Nurse Hailey – had died at the age of 33 due to complications from childbirth. In a new interview with Fox 11 Los Angeles, Matt paid tribute to Hailey and shared their journey to parenthood, saying that they had struggled to start a family before conceiving via IVF. Their son Crew arrived on March 29 via C-section, and Matt said they were able to share a brief but sweet moment together with their son after his birth. Shortly after, Hailey went into cardiac arrest, which Matt shares doctors said was due to an amniotic fluid embolism.

Child birth is something so joyful to look foraward to, but it s also a very dangerous situation to be in, things can go very seriously wrong within a blink of an eye, birth complications is most of the time deadly...i feel so sad to hear how she lost her life and how ironic, being in the Profession...my sincere Condolences to her husband, family, friends and colleagues 💔 💔🕊💔💔💐

"Thank you" to Haley for being one of the best Mentors ever. She has motivated my daughter to be the best Nurse she can be no matter the situation, location, or time emergencies arise. Haley worked in Emergency and mentored upcoming nurses with great knowledge, enthusiasm, and a beautiful smile. Haley also created tools like a Flashcard set to help teach nursing knowledge.
