I practice mental guessing with myself. For example, I will go to the park that has a lake and not take my phone and don’t ask for the time. I just want to be unplugged. Before I start my car and the clock will show it’s digital time, I try to guess. I may have walked one, two or three times times around the lake or been reading, relaxing on a blanket soaking up rays, or watching children playing. So, a variety of park scenarios. At first I was off by an hour or more. Then it got closer but off by 30 minutes +/- and once I got the actual time. It was the birth time of one of my children so that could factor in, but I got closer to the actual time before that happened. Mental telepathy and projection in its true form is a level of natural intelligence. People who are practiced at meditating, have “picked up” on things. It’s known that mystics of long ago used their mental powers for different “unusual” experiences. Some people are gifted or attuned to this type of practice. As with anything the more you practice at something, the better you’ll get.

Hey hello! I really enjoyed the full interview, I really like that people are into endurance and I have to thank Rich endlessly for helping me reafirm the passion I have when I read his book Finding Ultra. I've seen recently Oz big gigs and he's mind blowing!... I though was a little bit disappointed thanks to a comment of someone on the full video who discovered when (SPOILER ALERT) Oz puts something in the envelope. Anyway this doesn't undermines his awesomeness and great impact! One question for Oz and Rich (running related), Why you don't run in a more "natural running" technique? without cushioning? drop?... I would've bet from what I know about Rich that it's a technique and philosophy he would fully embrace. and Oz, you should try it! or do you? Congrats on the Central Park record!! Thanks.

The first two I don't know how he got. The 21 number might've been a suggestion based on "too long" which sounds like "two one". The second one was crazy. The last one was very obvious to me how that was done :)

He researched his targets before the show. Eamon, for example, was one of several names in various places which he had written down prior to the trick.

He appears to do some sleight-of-hand stuff around 3:35, but I didn't figure out yet how he got the name.

With the sleight-of-hand, it appears he transfers the card with the name on it and/or the zipper wallet containing it from underneath his notepad to the wallet.

EDIT: Okay I think Oz tears the card in such a way that he gets a peep at the name. I think he gathers the name at 2:36. This is the most likely of the several possibilities I can think of.

Why else would he tear the card? He could just have the guy do it, or hang onto it, or put it in his pocket etc. Also he does a slightly weird move right before he looks directly at the torn card at 2:36.

He then writes on the (hidden-from-our-sight) card (that gets pulled out of the wallet at the end), which is tucked in a certain part of his notepad. Notice he flips the notepad a second time when he starts writing. I think it may be the leather wallet insert from which the card is pulled at the end that is actually tucked in his notepad along with the card.

He then keeps the card / wallet insert carefully hidden underneath the notepad as he walks over to Rich, at which time he uses sleight of hand to insert the card/insert into or under the wallet (it's a trick wallet and insert of course).

I haven't got it nailed perfectly, but I think that's the gist of it. I'm not super confident about him getting the name while tearing the card, but the sleight-of-hand stuff at the end is almost certain IMO.

EDIT 2: Okay watched again, it doesn't seem like when he writes on the notepad he is taking enough time to write out what appears on the card at the end, I think because he has it all pre-written except for the name.
